Channel Swim - In August 2006 two teams containing a total of 15 people set out from Dover to complete the 23 miles to the French coast raising £26,000 for FOAG.

Dublin Marathon - In 2007 Cathy Edworthy completed the Dublin Marathon raising over £1000 for Kamurasi primary School.

Three Peaks - Dan Nathan and his team of Louise Starr and Sebastian Sems from Nationwide took part in the Three Peaks Challenge. They climbed Scarfel Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon within 24 hours and raised over £500.

Bupa Great Capital Run - On the 20th July 2008 Becky Jary ran the Bupa Great Capital Run in Hyde Park raising over £750 in aid of school fees for the children at Masindi Secondary School in Uganda.  

Journey for Life - Inspired by the plight of many African women in Uganda a group of mothers in Gloustershire, launched a Journey for Life to raise money for maternity and paediatric care at Kumi Hospital, Uganda.  Carrying their babies in slings they walked the 8 miles from their village in Dixton to the Cheltenham Maternity Hospital to raise awareness about the difficulties African women face in accessing maternity care. The 2008 Greeneye Hayathlon - 80 athletes conquered the Black Mountains in September 2008 – completing a stunning 13-mile run from the centre of Hay-on-Wye up to Hay Bluff and down to Galsbury for a 5 mile canoe race back to Hay.  The winning team completed the event in just over 2 hours. Muddy Boots Croquet Tornament 2009 - 80 peole decended on Fulham Palace on the 20th June 2009 to play a knockout game of Croquet. It was a perfect summers day and as the day progresses it was great to see the competative edge of each team come out. Photos of their exploits can be found in the media gallery.  RECENT EVENTS

Concert with cheltenham Symponey Orchestra at Pershore Abbey (conducted by David Curtis) - A concert in aid of FOAG was given by the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra in Pershore Abbey on the 17th October 2009. Here are FOAG members Tinah Kato, Christopher Sturdy who plays first horn in the orchestra, Pat McKay and Jane Sturdy. It raised just under a £1000 for FOAG.

 

Clothes Sales raises £300. Alice Garrett and Helen Bryden (daughter of Chris and Jane Sturdy) photographed here with their daughters Sophie and Rosie very kindly held a sale of clothes on 21st November in order to raise funds for much needed equipment at the maternity unit at Kumi Hospital. They made £300 and are hoping to make more by selling the remainder of the clothes on ebay.
